Interrupting Oppression

We come to Goddard from diverse locations, not only geographically but in terms of the many categories, from profession and class, to age, race, gender and sexual preference, that commonly define our identities. This introductory workshop offers an opportunity to explore the essentials underlying both oppressive cultural norms, and how we may have unwittingly internalized some of these norms. Using honest, guided dialogue and sensitive practice, we will create a mutually supportive space for us to acknowledge our vulnerabilities and uncertainties, and share tools and techniques for interrupting oppression and encouraging transformation.
